Decreto 41 de 2024: Modificación al RSA 977 – Definición de “Azucares Tradicionales” y “Azúcares No Tradicionales”

👉 Nueva Modificación al Reglamento Sanitario de los Alimentos!!
Con fecha 16 de abril de 2024, se publica en el Diario Oficial el Decreto 41, que modifica el artículo 383 del RSA.

* Se definen los azúcares tradicionales y no tradicionales:
Por azúcares “tradicionales” se entenderá a los carbohidratos, monosacáridos y disacáridos refinados, concentrados y/o cristalizados, que aportan 4 kcal por gramo, tales como: glucosa, fructosa, galactosa, sacarosa, lactosa y maltosa.
Por azúcares “no tradicionales” se entenderá a los siguientes carbohidratos: Tagatosa y Alulosa.

* Ambos tipos de azúcares, tradicionales y no tradicionales, deberán rotularse con su nombre específico en el listado de ingredientes.
En la declaración de nutrientes, los azúcares no tradicionales deberán declararse con su nombre específico y no deberán considerarse ni en el aporte del total de azúcares o azúcares totales, ni en el aporte de hidratos de carbonos disponibles.

* El aporte calórico de los azúcares no tradicionales deberá ser considerado en el aporte energético del producto, y se calculará según los factores de conversión energética establecidos, para estos efectos, por el Ministerio de Salud mediante norma técnica publicada en el Diario Oficial.

En los productos elaborados con azúcares no tradicionales, se deberá rotular la siguiente frase, según sea el caso:
– Para el caso de la Alulosa: “Ingestas de 28 gramos/porción o más de Alulosa, podrán producir malestares gastrointestinales o efecto laxante”.
– Para el caso de la Tagatosa: “Ingestas de 30 gramos/porción o más de Tagatosa, podrán producir malestares gastrointestinales o efecto laxante”.
